Secadas everywhere
February 7, 2008 by noseintheair
Contrary to received wisdom, secadas coming out of a cross position can be initiated with either right or left foot, as long as care as taken to move into her place and remember when to pivot and when to step forward (or side). This, then, yields two possibilites for secadas out of a cross. Practice for close embrace: Forward a half pace with the (left), next beat T-shape step to the left, bringing her strongly with you, then “clapping” the legs together in short paced steps (like the ocho cortado adornment) for three counts before walking out or repeating. Devino’s 2/6. Next week: Secadas from the other side, with both left and right feet.
